I will not comment until you guys have seen the footage. I recommend to download the file, and check it on a large monitor. My friend Jamie & I shot these yesterday. He owns the FX1, FX1000, and Mark II. The A1 is mine. Enjoy... let me also remark. VERY UNSCIENTIFIC. we shot like we shoot.

Curious, anyway. I felt free to post here:
Another "unscientific test" from Zacuto ... The A1 did pretty good!

The in-cam picture styles are inadequate for pro purposes. I suggest you import the Flat Picture styles into the 5DMarkII(dvinfo.net) or design your own styles using Canon Picture Styles Editor. These styles will produce a richer and less contrasty picture more exploitable for colour calibration. The Zacuto test and the nrkbeta.no test (RED against 5D) have both fallen in the same trap due to lack of knowledge about this new beast. There are also other issues concerning the inability of current codecs (QuickTime?) to exploit the colour space of the 5D files. The current theory is that 5D pictures look too contrasty because only 16-235 IRE area is exploited while the 5D files address the full space of 0-255 IRE. Conclusion: do not (yet) issue judgements on the 5D picture quality based on superficial tests !

I honestly don't think scientific tests really help you see anything. This is something we just threw together on a rainy day. I think it is very telling about how different the canon footage is from the rest. Very odd.

Nice test. The fx1000 does quite well in low-light. i'm impressed. I still love the footage I get from my A1 tho.
