see that aint cool... throwin popcorn at a kid.
I wonder what has to go through a man's mind to opt to go to prison instead of Fudruckers on the way home from the movie.
go figure.
I can tell ya if some dude busted a cap in my arm and then made the mistake of tossin poopcorn at my boy, I'd feed him both the gun and the pop corn.
but I don't go pushin buttons by babblin in movies. I assume this is what DVD players are for.

The shooting is ridiculous and insane, but the popcorn throwing isn't exactly in the same category... I say "shut the f*ck up at the movie"... I can't tell you how many movies have been ruined by dopes who can't control the noises their mouths make... from out of place "hmmph"... to reading words on the screen out loud (like in a note)... or asking about the movie during the movie.
If it hadn't been for the shooting... I'd see this guy like Bernard Goetz... it's too bad he had to take it that far.
If you have a kid that can't shut up during the movie... that's cool if you want to pay my way in... but otherwise... stay home.
Popcorn assault good... shooting bad.

Cate Blanchett does that to people.

I hope he at least had the courtesy to use a silencer, and not ruin the movie for everyone else.

I can see how you'd need a gun at the movies...bad choice to shoot the guy. Lucky he didn't pull a Plaxico Burris.

Come on, does this not look like the face of a man who was waiting for any reason to shoot someone--

I would love for theatre to install cell phone blockers in EVERY theatre.
I've lit up younglings with my surefire cree flashlight one too many times. (Don't want to shut up, fine enjoy dancing white spots for the next 20 minutes.)
Of course, this could all be solved by parents teaching their offspring to STFU at the movies, but I guess that is asking too much.

Me too. That's one of my greatest pet peeves.

Put me on the jury and that dude walks. I feel his pain.
I understand why he'd shoot the dad, but throwing the popcorn at the kid is really going too far. Okay, so maybe he walks on the Attempted Murder rap, but guilty on Assault with Popcorn.

Definitely took it too far. I mean we've all been there and it's annoying, but you don't shoot somebody over it. I actually went to the movies yesterday, but in the small town theater talking isn't usually a problem (since the room is maybe half full). :)

They should post this news story at every ticket booth window. Maybe we can turn this tragedy into a positive. Probably still won't get the point across.
