I recently uploaded a video using my new premiere software, but there are some interlacing issues

http://www.vimeo.com/2632462

Anyone know how fix this? This knowledge would help me repair this video, and future videos. Thanks in advanced.

If you need to know, I shot this on my dvx100b, in 24p. Keep in mind that I know nothing about interlacing and deinterlacing.

You shot progressive so there is no need to concern yourself about interlacing or deinterlacing.

You should edit in a Progressive project ie "no fields"

Curious - why are your videos "yellow"? (color temp issue or just the way you like them?)

Just the way I like it, I put it on a warm setting. Thanks, I'll try it out when I get home.

Alright I tried my luck, but no go. I am starting a normal default project, and I tried doing something different during the export. When I export it comes up with a settings option. I noticed that it defaulted as interlaced, with the lower one being first. So I thought "That must be why it is interlacing". I changed it to no fields (Progressive), but no; still interlaced as hell. So then I tried the de-interlacing option, still nothing! I can't seem to figure this out.

Are you using Media Encoder?

How are you importing?

I'm importing through Adobe premiere, I guess?

Which version of Premiere are you using? (CS3 and CS4 are different export workflows)

What do you want in the end? avi, mpeg, dvd, qt, wmv, flash...????

It's just the basic Adobe premiere Elements... wmv would be good, but avi ould be better.

I am still not sure how you are exporting.

If you export a "movie" from Elements it will be an avi and it will match your project settings. (Which should be Progressive No Fields).

If you are exporting a wmv through the Encoder. Uncheck the Deinterlace Box.

Yeah I export it as 'movie' from elements. It is an avi, and when I export it it brings up a save file, where I can check the settings, and I am sure to put 'Progressive (No Fields)'. However, the video I uploaded was actually defaulted as the top first or whatever settings, but that was a default. I've been exporting as progressive, and the footage still looks the same. The same zig-zaggy interlacing issues. I can deal with it for now because it is a minor issue, and the quality looks great to me. It would be much better if I could figure out how to remove this issue.

Jett, dont think your issue can be fixed with Pemiere elements. I don't have elements but I don't think elements will import the 24P into timeline correctly.

this being said, once you edit and export, you will compound the issue with the basic compressor in elements.

try downloading a trial of Premiere Pro 2.0 or up to CS4 and reimport with 24P settings.

Good idea. Yeah, I just figured this out the other day, when I tried exporting the footage in Windows movie maker instead, and found that it came out PERFECTLY, but pixelated as hell. I'll try this idea out when I get home.
