when I am capturing in ppro everything is fine except when I am trying to capture anything longer than about 14-16 minutes, when the tape gets to that point it brings up a error that says max file size has been reached ??? I don't have a limit on my capture size in preimere pro or 6.0(I tried it in both and, same result). could this be due to the fact that my hdd is fromatted in fat32? should I be in NTFS or does it matter

Yeah, I would convert or format the drive to NTFS. You're not losing anything by doing so. Be aware that some applications are not capable of utilizing or creating those larger files so I'm not sure how PPro will handle it. It seems earlier versions had file size limitations regardless (AVI1 vs. AVI2). I haven't done enough work in PPro to know yet. Other users will have an answer.

You can also try defragmenting the drive. I would think you'd max out the file size at about 9 min rather than 14-16 - at least that's been my experience in the past in such cases.

maybe it was about 9 (not sure) anyway I swithced to NTFS and no problems now, it handled the whole tape fine. Thanks preston ;D
