I might be crazy, but when I turn on my Letus extreme ( Just recieved today), there is no significant difference. The giant red beam turns on, and the damn thing vibrates, but there is no difference with the image. What's up with that? Answer asap please.

try going wide open on the aperture.. if you're stopped too far down grain will always be there on vibrators.

That's the weird thing, my aperature is completely open, but it's working the way it's suppose to, regardless of whether it is turned on or not. To me it looks the way that it should because I've seen what the Letus extreme, DVX100b, and Nikkor 50mm AF lens are suppose to look like together. So in a nut shell, it looks the way it is suppose to look regardless of the fact that it is on or off. I'll tell you what, I'll capture some photage today, and if it is wrong you can tell me what I am doing wrong. I appreciate the help.

You'll notice the difference when you go to wider lenses or to a bigger screen (tv, projector). On the computer or camera LCD you wont necessarily notice it. But while you're shooting always keep it on, theres a good reason its vibrating :)

I see. I'm using a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 stop AF lens on my Letus 35mm adapter; which is probably why there isn't any significant advice. However, I decided to leave it on whenever I shot, why not?

Here's what I captured. What do you think?

That's funny. When I hit the red button the scene lights itself and the patented "Badass" filter is officially in operation :)
The Nikon 50mm is probably the most widely owned lens on this board. What kind of significant device are you looking for?
If you are rolling footage, the adapter needs to be on. Dig through old posts to find out why :)

I downloaded your footage and saw that you are getting shallow DOF and I didn't see any grain from the GG, so I'm not sure why you think it isn't working. It looks like it's working to me.

It's not that I don't think that it's working. It's that visually there is no difference whether I turn it on or off, at least through the lens that I am using. As long as it is fine, that's all I need to know.

Adapter OFF
Take off your lens to the adapter
Zoom all the way in
Aim camera at light - window etc.
Iris down
Focus on the GG
While looking in the viewfinder, turn the adapter on.
The GG should start to spin in an oblong motion.
Unfourtunatly the red light only means you have batteries in and they are installed the right way, Not that the unit is working... but as you said your unit was spinning (I'm assuming you looked at the tip of the motor and say rotation.
My extreme pulled out it's wire to the motor because of the vibration causing a weird malfunction it seemed like it was working but it was not.
