I just got Premiere Pro 1.5 and I really like it. But when I'm using the trim window, it sometimes crashes. Windows reported "The driver for the display device was unable to complete a drawing operation. Please check with the device manufacturer for a driver update."

I was stunned. Not by the crash, but by the useful message . ;) Window's error messages are usually useless.

Currently I'm running Catalyst 3.7. The current rev is 4.6. My experience is that ATI drivers are hit-and-miss, so I'm wondering if anyone has any opinion on which, from 3.8 through 4.6, are the least buggy.

I am using 4.6 right now and it seems rather stable. Havn't had any crashes since I installed it about 2 weeks ago. I remember that version 4.4 and 4.5 had problems with calibrated monitors in that it forced you to use the ati color controls and overroad your calibration software :) That was fixed in 4.6 so I installed it and it runs great.

Thanks for the response, scharky. So you were having crashes too, but 4.6 took care of them?

I hadn't been having any crashes, but I have also never used a catalyst driver below 3.9. I definatly think it is time to update.
