Greetings all,

here's a short high resolution series of selects from the Christmas show that I shot. It's some high key and some low-light stuff. All of it is camera original stuff without any CC, and this is all shot in camera with no greenscreen, etc. This is for those looks for high res shots.. cheers and hope you enjoy. The performance went over very well...

I'll see what I can do. This stuff was shot HD but delivered in DVCPRO50 so its just the final exports... I'll see about putting one up later but it will be huge in size...



The low light stuff with this cam is awesome.... I couldn't even get anywhere near this with the HVX.

The settings were 720 60p, bgamma, and I crushed the master ped to like -75 to get the background to disappear. I think is pretty much all I did

Hi,
First of all great footage!
I just checked the 720p movie and I'm wondering about something.
In the Dolly footage of the blond girl with the red fan there is a substantial amount of noise in the background. is this the noise level to be expected from this camera or was this shot with high gain and the wrong settings?
Image quality looks beautiful but I fear the noise...

Awesome! Thanks Justyn! I can see how it really performs!:thumbup: And yeah, whats with the noise? On purpose?

I think it's a combo of the compression and also the master ped being so darn low.. had it crushed way down. It looks really nice direct out of the camera and only on DVI comps and such do you really see it.


Overall though I'm way happier than I would be if I were shooting original HVX... It's also been such a pleasure to shoot with compared to P2 cams

Thanks David... I'll do some more investigating on the noise... but I think it's somewhat a byproduct of the 264 compression and also the master ped being at -75. Overall the camera produces very little noise compared to what we had to deal with with the original HVX.

In a week or so I'm going to shoot my first adapter work so we'll see how it handles that kind of stuff. I'm hoping to do a litttle Bergman style composition work so it'll be a fun chance to get some of my A/C chops back again.. Been a while since I shot film style stuff.. about as long as the HD became affordable with the HVX in 06'....
