Low Light HVX200

I was wondering if anyone had any tips to get the best performance out of the HVX200 in low light situations, with the least amount of noise. I will be shooting a short in Jan, 720/24p and the script requires a few EXT night shots. I haven't been really impressed with what i've seen the 200 do in that kind of environment before. So anything help would really be appreciated

use the a de-noise plug in. like nattress g smart or DE: noise or MXFX. there are a few out there that work very very well. Why wouldn't day for night be an option. Just curious.

not an option because i'm shooting at a old 50's style diner that is open during the day, because this is a low-no budget short i need to work around their schedule

well honestly i have done a thorough search and got some good info, although I'm new to DVX user I'm not new to posting and i wouldn't have posted this question if i found what i was looking for on other threads. Here's the problem with this suggestion. Simply reading what others have written in the past will completely rule out other suggestions by people that have recently found new tips, techniques, plug-ins and other information that hasn't been posted yet. To get the most recent and best answers to my question i thought it was best to ask it again.

I understand where you are coming from. But, The HVX is a known quantity and has been for several years. If any one has discovered the magic bullet that overcomes the camera's low light issues it would have been discovered and discussed here long ago.

That being said feel free to open the door to more discussion. I'm not saying don't do that. I'm saying the answers are already here.

The real solution is to follow what PerroneFord mentioned- light it properly and you won't have an issue.

sad but true. I want to thank you for taking the time to help me out, i hear Neat video looks promising and they may be coming out with a version for MAC in the coming months. But lets see what good old fashioned light can do for me.
