Hello,
Hoping someone here can help me out. I noticed a problem with my MOV files in FCP really late into my editing process, and am looking to Premiere to save me.
Essentially the problem is that every 4th frame of my 24p footage is interlaced. Supposedly it's a weird bug with FCP that Apple is aware of but hasn't fixed. Premiere however, can take my p2 footage and make it truly 24p. So, I want to create MOV files in premiere, and relink the clips in my FCP timeline to these files created in Premiere.
I am using the DVCPro 1080 24p preset for my timeline in FCP. I am using the DVCPRO HD 1080i 24p setting to open my project in Premiere. The footage was all shot 1080i 24pA on an HVX200.
When file>>export movie a MOV from Premiere, I get errors in FCP that say the clip is not the same length, and has a different number of audio tracks, and therefore I have to import them as "independent clips". I was hoping somewhere here could help me figure out how to get an MOV out of exactly match my FCP project and completely replace my old files instead of just creating independent instances of the new ones in the timeline. Any time or effort is very much appreciated.
