The Persian cat's name is Sami.

She was included in the shot because of how fine her fur is.

that is a really clean key. What did you do to get that? Looks like a possible stroke around the people? looks really nice and better than I've been able to pull. Do you have some footie?

David,

Very nice key. Did you happen to capture this through the HDMI or was it straight out of the SDHC?

Would there be a significant difference in keying between the two types of capture with this camera?

This was 720/24p.

One RIFA 55 softbox that I used as a green screen and subject light.

About eight feet between me, the cat and the screen.

We set it up in five minutes.

The RIFA was the key (no pun).

Justyn, are you asking for the original footage?

I don't have the MTS file anymore. At least I don't think - I'll check

What type of footie do you want?

I have the original NO NAME SDHC Card.

The footage is one file that runs 310 MBs.

I have no way to host it.

Anybody who wants it let me know how we provide it.

Have you ever tried keylight? It's like butter.

Yes, as part of AE CS3, et al.

DV Matte Pro runs quite a bit less expensive and produces what you see in about four steps.

Hey David,

Looks good.

The black fringe on the T-shirt is a problem--difficult to get rid of, I know.
Also, there's a loss of detail on the cat hair edge on the screen compared to
in front of the T-shirt. Looks like a matte choke.
And the lighting on the foreground is from the left side, but the lighting
on the background is from behind the camera and up high.

The cat is beautiful.

Yes, she is.

Again, we set this up so quickly to do some testing.

I was surprised at how little spill there was and clean a key there was.

I actually did very little clean up.

And cat hair is about as tough as it gets.

More later when we finish shoveling the 32 inches of snow here in Spokane the last week.

32 inches of snow! Sounds like time to do a lumakey!
I'm sure your cat will enjoy playing in the snow :)

Happy New Year!
