Shooting with the hpx170 and letus this weekend. Mostly exteriors. What the highest shutter I can use, i've read 1/250th. Also, I never tweak the shutter angle, is that something I should use. I think its just always at 180.

I've also read I should keep the f-stop lower than 4.0.... is that true and are they referring to the lens or the camera f-stop?

thanks!

I never go over 1/100 or 1/120 to be safe.

You can do as you wish with the camera's iris. I never go past f/4.0 on my 35mm lens (I'll do f/5.6 if its an interior with no large white surfaces)

exactly, 1/120th at 24 p is really the highest combo you can go.

Keep your F stop at F4 or wider. And it also depends on the surfaces on which you are shooting. Against a flat colored wall, evenly lit etc.. it will show more.

hi , i'm just about to buy a LEX , and researching a lot..

can you please explain for me , in words that i can understand....hehehe...'cause i'm a non native english speaker...sooo.....

about the part you'd say........." And also dependes on the "surfaces" on wich you are shooting..."

thnks...

and a doubt , why do not use high shutter speeds..?? ou 60p...??? is that because the camera can "see" the vibrating glass vibrating inside the adapter...??

thanks...

Reem12,

180 degree at 24p is 1/48 shutter speed. 180 at 60i is 1/60. yes its okay for use with the Letus.

Marco,

A large bright evenly lit surface is the worst possible condition for a vibrating ground glass adaptor. Shooting under such circumstances will make it very difficult to hide the grain pattern. (ie, large expanse of bright sky or evenly lit white wall).

The higher the shutter speed, the less motion blur is recorded by the camera. Ground glass adaptors use vibrating motors to hide the grain using motion blur. Higher shutter speeds nullify the work of the vibration.

thanks jason...

so working with an 200p under these circunstances would be a noise nightmare...

but there are some other circunstances that is awesome ...

so , i got get the "swing" to figure out the best way to work with.

and about 60p to make true slomo....??
is the problem to...??

o i'll need to figure out how to mix LEX footage with naked hvx?
