Doing a kind of split screen- Need help!

Hello all,

I'm trying to figure out how I would take 2 different shots of the same looking scene and mix it together as one (you know, the kind of shot that takes 2 scenes of one person - same setup though- and then mixes them to make a single shot looking like he has a twin)

Basically- I'm thinking some sort of a mask would do it or something like that, but im not sure.

Any suggestions?????

put the 2 vids on top of eachother as one layer over another.. then you could use a mask which offeres the most flexibility for movement, or crop the top vid layer so the bottom one shows through. .of course using the cropping method to cut the top layer in half, you cant have the guy on the bottom layer go over the crop *or he will go underneath the upper layer again. youcould also green screen or a number of differnt things..
