Hi, I just recently did a gig and I have 3 files that read "incomplete". I have imported P2 files in 720/24pn no differently then I was today for a long time, but today it didn't work.

I am using FCP 6.0.4

I am using a MacBook pro I bought brand new in February 08.

The files play on my HVX, My log and transfer window. But when I am log and transfering it will get to the final last second and then stop and come up with a red exclamation point where the little spinning circle was.

I looked at about 10 threads on this and didn't find any help.

I did try going into import settings / preferences and unchecking "remove advanced pull down and duplicate frames"

I was shooting in 720/24pn, any body got any suggestions. I need to get these clips off this card for a client.

Thanks, Jay

Nevermind. The answer to get rid of the problem is to borrow a 60GB dump drive from someone and dump all your 16GB cards onto it. Then from there the computer can Figure out which clips are spanned and which clips are incomplete and match them with the files it needs to finish them. This problem happen because I was in a run and gun situation and kept switching cards even though the cards weren't completely full, as a result I ended up getting various spanned clips that were written over 3 cards. Without the dump drive there is no way for FCP to "log and transfer" from 3 cards full of data at the same time. For once I have found a use for the dump drive. Still glad i don't own one my self. Good luck everyone with this problem, especially if you can't get access to a dump drive. If you really need the footage off the cards, my advice is to go rent one for a half day from a rental house to get your clips.

Or, use any program other than FCP's log & transfer to import your footage. HD Log, MXF4QT, Raylight, or anything else would have allowed you full access to those clips.

Log and transfer works just fine, as long as you input all of the cards where spanned clips occur. NO problem.

What I also like about L&T is that you can mark IN and OUT and only import what you want. And if the hard drive with this media fails, then you just hit BATCH CAPTURE with the backup drive with the P2 cards connected and it will reimport the footage, recognizing the IN and OUT points and the names you most likely gave the footage (who uses 004GHT.mov).
