I don't see how to rate them?

I don't see how to rate them?
I think you just move your mouse over the stars until you've highlighted the amount you want to, then it should stay highlighted in yellow. Am I right? Or is voting not officially open yet?

Hey Chris ...
Because you don't have 50 posts yet. Have the mods open that for you.
If you have a script uploaded, they let you vote. This keeps vote dumpers out!

Try it again Chris, it should work now. Let me know if you have any additional problems.

Is it the Rate this Thread section you use, or should I be able to see a different rating somewhere? I have over 50 posts!

I see stars! It works now. You should see stars in the far right column next to the name/link to read the screenplay.

I don't have those in view, even though I have over 50 posts. Could you sort that for me please Mods?

I see no stars either. I know I have less than 50 posts, but I PMed Isaac and he said that shouldn't be a problem. Anyone know why I can't rate?

DarkElastic and themightyshrub - I've corrected your accounts, you should be able to vote now.

Cheers!
By the way - I seem to be able to vote on my own script. This doesn't seem very fair to me, I'm not going to vote on my script because I'm obviously biased, but there might be some other people who are just going to give their own script ten stars. Is there some process whereby votes placed on your own script are void?

It is up to you whether you rate your own entry or not. Remember these are individual entry ratings, not rankings, not votes. This means that the final result is based on the average rating each entry receives.
We don't just tally the stars and call it a day, we get the average vote based on total ratings and number of votes placed for that one entry, regardless of what the others received. We then rank based on this average rating.
This has been thoroughly examined, explored, and tested prior to implementation and subsequently through several fests now and it works extremely well.
First, it is not affected by ballot stuffers. If you rate your entry a 10 and every one else a 1 it doesn't push you up and them down because it's based on an average and assuming every one else will rate realistically on those entries the average will reflect what the majority rated. The only way to significantly alter the outcome is to get a large population of people to also rate one entry a 10 and the rest a 1. But we store each individual rating and I examine every one, so if that happened it would be extremely obvious and they would get thrown out.

How long is the viewing/voting window? Just checking how long I have to get through the rest of the scripts.

You took the words out of my mouth - how long until game over, I don't want to miss anyone's entry!

Apparently its a big secret.
Probably has to do with total number of votes or something.

jamie - I just checked and all your ratings are still recorded in the database. So are you not seeing them on the viewing/rating page?
jamiejay

Are the scripts no longer available to read? I get a 404 error when clicking the 'click here' to download link and the page with all the scripts listed has the following at the top of the page:
Warning: filesize() [function.filesize (http://www.dvxfest.com/scriptfestIII/function.filesize)]: stat failed for /home/fest_admin/dvxfest.com/host_mirror/scriptfestIII/entries/Wooden-Kimono-Final-CallaghanFilms.pdf in /home/.malin/fest_admin/dvxfest.com/scriptfestIII/index.php on line 24
I was interested in reading some of these scripts and was hoping that they were still around.
Thanks

If it is down, try just contacting the various writers and asking if they could send their scripts to you. I personally would be fine emailing you my entry, as long as I get some useful feedback out of it. PM me with your email address and I'll send it out

We had a data loss on the main server ... working on restoring it, but may take a little time.
If you see this message you previously entered any of the script fests, please send me your pdf file. You can e-mail it to me:
