Newb PP question?

Well I just opened PP for the first time. I've had on my computer for quite some time but I usually do my editing in Avid. PP seems easy enough to get to grips with and a much friendlier UI then Avid.

Any how here is my question. In my source monitor my file looks like its suppose to but in my program monitor its not displaying it at the source resolution size its zoomed in. When I export its fine but for accuracy I need the comp window to display it correctly.

anyway - are your Project settings the same as your Source media (ie clip dimesions)


BTW - your screen grab does not show much difference. Set the Monitors to 'FIT'

Thanks for the reply yep my project settings are the same as my source media and both monitors are set to 'fit' in the screen grab.

I just started the project over and that fixed it. I just started it so it wasn't a big deal. I'm guessing I messed up a setting somewhere?

Glad to hear you fixed it, but for the record, your screen grab showed nothing wrong with it to begin with. It is most likely that you had one of the settings set to full zoom in on your footage.

If you take a look at the screen grab the program monitor isn't showing the white on the sides like source monitor. See what I'm talking about?

But yeah somehow it was zooming in on the footage. I must say though PP seems like a pretty decent editor. I certainly see myself using it more along side Avid since I don't have a mac with FCP.
