A couple of weekends ago myself and 2 others made our way to Baltimore Maryland to shoot a short skateboarding montage. I have always been a huge fan of skateboarding videos since I was a little kid, filming skateboarding is what accually introduced me to cinematography at a young age. After recently re-watching some skateboarding videos, I noticed that what draws me to them mostly is the locations that the skaters find. They seem to be places that most skaters would never think twice about visually but to the common person have a very interesting/different look/feel to. My goal for this montage is to draw attention not just to the tricks that the skaters are doing, but also to the locations/skate spots. Hopefully that makes sense, I have a tough time writing my thoughts down...oh well.
The entire montage was shot with the HPX-170 with Letus Extreme adapter w/ stock achromat. Lenses used:
Nikon 20mm f2.0
Nikon 35mm f2.8
Nikon 50mm f1.8
Nikon 60mm f2.8 Macro
Nikon 85mm f1.8
Nikon 70-300mm f3.5-5.6 (Yuck)
Filtration Used:
Tiffen ND .9 Soft Grad Filter
Tiffen Linear Ultra Polarizer Filter
Anyway, here is the link to the montage:
