View Full Version : Rattle in my redrock, need help!

I just bought a used redrock with an hvx200. I know the adapter has some noise from the spinning glass, but that's not the issue. The 'whirring' I know, the rattle is annoying. It isn't constant, but when it does happen, it's pretty loud and I'm afraid it will interfere with my audio. Any ideas? Redrock hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Your cinescreen may be off-balance. I would wait to hear from Brian or Andrew before attempting to fix it.

That's probably it. It actually looks a little warped, or has some wobble to it. Kind of like a unbalanced ceiling fan.

If that's the problem, it's a pretty easy fix, if you are comfortable doing it yourself. Check out this tutorial: http://vimeo.com/1871658
It includes instructions for removing and replacing the cinescreen, which may be what you need to do. Do you know if the previous owner replace the cinescreen? If not, you may have a bigger problem.

I just ordered the upgrade to the cinescreen II. Thought it would be a good idea. I took apart the adapter and the screen was definitely warped. Thanks for your help.
