DIY remote focus/iris/zoom???

this cam has jacks for remote focus/iris/zoom. i could buy the varizoom controller for it, but i'd like to save my cash for a letus35, matte box, and some more lighting.

how hard would it be to build my own wired system? i'm pretty good with electronics...
