Has anyone found clips missing from the cards when it comes to downloading to the computer?

I shot and event last week and one of the clips is missing. It was an interview and I am 99.99999% certain the camera was running during the interview but it's not on the cards.

The timecode of the clips before and after the point where the interview should be follows on.

Could it be possible that the camera has not saved the (interview) clip when I stopped the recording?

This is the second time it has happened and both times the camera went into record but the clips didn't save.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Well, there's a lot which could go into this.

Were they spanned clips?

Are you sure you didn't accidentally delete them?

How did you transfer them to the computer?

I don't think it would have been a spanned clip as an earlier clip spanned the two cards and the interview wasn't long enough to go over the FAT 32 file size to create another spanned clip.

I transfered the clips to FCP using Log and Transfer. However, if FCP had caused the loss of the clip it doesn't account for the timecode following on from the two adjacent clips. What I mean is that the two clips either side of where the interview should be have timecode that follows without a break. This points to me not starting the camera recording but I know I did. It's as if the camera hasn't saved the clip when recording was stopped.

I know I haven't deleted the clip accidentally.

Very worrying.
