Anyone know of a reputable online store that sells HPX without the 16gig p2 card? I searched B&H, spec-comm, and Amazon, but all only sells the camera with the p2 card. I found a few links on Ebay and various google searches that sells the HPX without the P2 card, but I'm somewhat hesitant on dealing with these people.
Thanks for the help.

No authorized dealer will do this. You can buy from a non-authorized dealer, though, and probably buy without the card, but in that case you are much more likely to get a grey-market camera without a US warranty.
It's up to you if the savings is worth it, but most people on these forums wouldn't think so.
Also keep in mind that while there are plenty of legitimate grey market and non-authorized dealers, for every legit one there is 2 or 3 scam shops, and it's often hard to tell the difference if you've never dealt with them before.
All in all... beware.

somnang,
are you trying to save a few $$$ by buying w/o the card? - Even without the card (and buying grey market) you stand to lose a lot more than a few hundred bucks. Buy the authorized kit and sell the card. Bada bing... you've now just bought the HPX and it doesn't have a P2 card :)

I had a bad experience once going through grey market/non-authorize dealer. It's definitely not worth the headache. Thank you guys for your help. I'll go with an authorize dealer and save myself the troubles and worries.
THANKS!

In Canada authorized dealers sell the HP170 without a P2 card. Here's a link for a store here in Toronto:

As far as I can tell, nobody is offering the HPX170 without the card right now. I have purchased three HVX200's in the past year without cards but I see no similar deals online for the 170.
There are a few online sellers with very low prices, like fotoconnection, but you definitely do not want to deal with those people.
Maybe you could pre-sell the card to someone at a bargain price to offset the cost of the regular package.

Just for the record, there ARE non-grey market cameras being sold by non-authorized dealers. Just because you buy from a non-authorized dealer does NOT mean you are automatically getting a grey market camera. It's not like you have only 2 choices - either grey market OR USA model from only an authorized dealer.

We are a Panasonic dealer. I can sell the camera without card for $4395. I just open up a new camera, pull the card, seal the box, double box and then ship it. I'll ship UPS ground, with signature required, anywhere in the US for free.
