The adapter backfocus is off. It needs to be calibrated, although on the extreme there's just no easy way.

Thanks for the info. I have to remember the next time we rent it, that I'll have to do that myself, cause the guy said he does it. Do you know where I can find the tests, and test sheets so I figure it out?

Use a valve tolerance feeler gauge when adjusting backfocus on the Letus Extreme. There are small screws that can be used to help keep the lens mount straight. Its not easy but not too hard. If however, backfocus cannot be fixed with the mount at its extreme, the LeX needs to be disassembled to make course adjustment. That is when it gets harder.

Do a DVXUSER or Internet search for exact instructions.

It's possible to adjust backfocus without any chart. Measure the distance to an object from the adapter film plane, then turn your lens focus ring to that distance and see if that object is in focus. If it is not, then your backfocus is off. Adjust backfocus (depending on the adapter) until the object come into sharp focus. Now take another distance measurement that is closer or further away and see if the distance reading on your lens is still spot on. If it is, then your backfocus is now set and you won't have to touch it again. Took about 15-20 minutes if you have an easy to adjust system like the Letus Ultimate. On the Extreme, you would have to basically move the mount around bit by bit and check focus; not fun.
