Cap Issues

I have updated my FCP to 6.0.4- i believe with still no luck in capturing avchd. So, I have been using imovie to do my capturing. It has been working up until tonight; and now when I capture all the video plays back green. What happened?

Not sure, but you're aware that the current version of Final Cut is 6.0.5, which specifically addresses issues with the HMC150 range? Try Software Update again?

I still cant get the media to mount in fcp. I click on preferences to change avchd to pro ress 422 then click ok. I have tried dragging and dropping with no luck also. what is the procedure? I keeps telling me power pc is not compatible with avchd, but i have an intel mac and 6.0.5.

Look for "Log and Transfer", right below "Log and Capture"; you'll need the full data structure the camera puts on the memory card, not just the media files themselves. The easiest way of ensuring this is to feed Log & Transfer the SD card directly.

OK, that's odd. Sounds like your Final Cut install might be running under Rosetta, the PowerPC emulation layer. I'm not sure how this is possible (perhaps if you've copied FCP over from an old machine, rather than installing it from scratch?), but you can check by firing up Activity Monitor. The right-most column will tell you if the application is Intel or PowerPC.

If it says 'PowerPC', you have a very messed-up installation. Best bet would be to wipe Final Cut and reinstall from the original disks.

I think your right jon. I used the update key for older version of FCP. Now I have no idea what I am going to do. AHH
