automatic focus ring stop

on the hVX (or any camera for that matter)

is there a way to set stoppers between focal points? shifting from one focal point to another within a shot is quite nerve racking. it would be great if a stopper of sorts would smoothly slow down the ring to the new focal point while your hand simply turns the dial.

this way you can concentrate on other things in the scene without having to look at the numbers on the LCD screen

thats what a follow focus and camera assistant are for. but yes, that would be a handy "feature"

seems like this could be built straight into a focus ring. Some type of settable stop points

Look into the FOXI. It's an electronic follow focus for the camera's lens and you can mark your start and end stops. I don't think you can set hard stops on it, but then again I haven't seen a FOXI in a couple of years, maybe they have a newer one with programmable stops?
