So if I understand correctly, DVCPRO-HD is a codec with rectangular pixels, which means 720x960 would be equivalent to 720x1280 square pixels. Now when I export a still frame from FCP, and open it in photoshop, it shows up in square pixels, and looks like a squeezed 4:3 frame. So I change the pixel aspect ratio to DVCPRO-HD, and it looks proportional, but all the sudden it doesn't look very clear. I see "stairs" diagonally along the pixels. I may be wrong, but I thought I had seen people posted still frames from HVX footage, and it looked proportional and clear. What is the best way to do this?

The aspect ratio correction thingie in Photoshop is kinda like a preview thing and doesn't display at full quality. Just change in the physical size to 1280x720 with a square pixel ratio.
