Sometime in the near future, will it be time for me to upgrade to an HD camera. I have been considering either the HMC and used HVX. I have little knowledge about the HMC What do you guys recommend me getting? What will be better in the long run? I am too lazy to research right now... I'm doing work anyway at the moment.

Before recommending a camera, it's best if we know a little bit about what you do. What do you plan to use the camera for? What's your price limit, if any? What's your current workflow? There is no overall best camera, just the best camera for your needs.

I shoot with a DVX100A and do bit of freelance work(events) and films. Right now I'm leaning towards the 150 because of the price but I am still not sure. Whats the avchd workflow like?

Red scarlet.............................hold on hold on, buy a hmc now and start making money, or if you have money go with the 170 ( but only if you have enough money to spend on cards).

Good point..on the price of P2.
How does the size and weight compare to each other? (HMC vs HVX)

HMC is thinner, a little shorter, and way lighter than HVX.
