amazing camera - I have used the HVX200, DVX100A,CANON XL2, and by far this camera has the best workflow with its SD cards, and the quality is amazing. Highly recommend.

I've read in many places and have downloaded files from this cam. Is it true that you need a quadcore processor to handle this files properly in the NLE ? I tested the files in Premiere CS4 and Sony Vegas 8c. I only have a Dual Core 8500 processor with 6GB or RAM and in Vegas, my timeline was a bit slow and CS4 was also a bit slow. So, my guess is that you can't even edit this files in Final Cut Pro unless you have a MacPro with 8 cores. What kind of computer do you have?

erick, when using FCP, the files are transcoded to the ProRes codec, which are very easy to edit with. an older G5 would suffice, but transcoding the files from AVCHD to ProRes is going to be faster with a more powerful machine.

I convert to p2 using VMWare on a Mac, and they work great in FCP.
EricPro, I have an intel quad core running Vegas Pro 8c and can edit native AVCHD no probs. The playback is a little stuttery on first timeline play but once buffered plays fine. I have already completed one same day edit that we shot entirely on two HMC152 cams and there were no real issues other than the widely reported 50P stuttery playback - rendered okay though :)

i must admit i am getting really sick of magic bullet-esque presets! they have become a cliche these days in the prosumer community and are so over-used, mis-used, and instantly recognizable that they distract from the image IMO

No Magic Bullet here... all color corrected with the NLE color correction.
