hello.
i want to review my videos while editing in fcp so i can see the final result and for proper colorcorrection.
is it possible to use a mxo 2 and a hd-projector for this? say if i have a totally dark room and a good projection-screen...
or do you think i have to buy a hd lcd tv?
i rather want to buy a projector so i can use it for more purposes, but maybe it is too big a compromise?
what do you think?
thanx

Greatly depends on the projector. The one's specifically designed for this like a Cristie's 2K cost close to $100,000. So I'd go for a proper HD production monitor instead.

you can do that, but for correction purposes you're better investing in a good production monitor. Every projector is going to be different, and if you correct for one you own, it'll throw the picture off, in varying degrees, for every other one.

It can definitely be done. I have a Home Theater with a 106 inch movie screen on the wall and a Panasonic AE2000 1080P HD Projector. My PJ has 3 HDMI inputs on the back. Funny thing is that I haven't been able to get my laptop to show up on my screen yet! I am running DVI to HDMI from my laptop to a wall plate to plug my cables into. So I am going to have to troubleshoot that some more but it can be done. I agree with others that you might want to get you a good monitor for the color correction phase of your editing though.

Sure anything *can* be done. I have almost that same projector and I watch DVDs, Blu-Rays and downloads from iTunes on it. However it's not something you can really calibrate to professional standards the way you can a true production monitor. In other words you can do your color correction on that setup, but expecting it to ever match anyone else's monitor is a crapshoot at best.
