I want to create the effect where the title is being stamped on like how "Top Secret" or "Confidential" is stamped on a government file. Can this be done in Livetype or Motion? If so, how?

Ok, so I did some experimenting in Livetype and came up with something that is close to what I want, but not quite there. I used the behind camera effect to bring the text in from behind and "stamp" it on, but the text appears to come straight on from the foreground. I want it to seem to come from an actual stamp. I suspect that coming from an angle would help to achieve the look I want, but I don't know how to do it. Can I do this in Motion? Will keep experimenting...

motion would be the way to go or after effects if you got it. I've done this exact effect before as well. Adding a little rough square around the text helps to sell that it's a stamp also. I don't use motion much but I would just have it come in from the side a little and just adjust some of the rotation parameters (not much, just a little, like a hand is coming in). Don't forget motion blur, that can make a big difference. I think for mine I made the Text in Photoshop with the square around it so I could animate it as one piece. Hope that helps.

This would be pretty easy to do in Motion. There are several ways you might approach it, but here's one:
Create a Photoshop document with your "file" and "stamp" layers, and save it out with layers intact. Create a Motion document and import your Photoshop file, making sure to drop it as "all layers," and add a camera. Tell it yes, you want to make the project 3d.
Set a Z position keyframe for the "stamp" layer out at frame 20 or so. Go back to 1, grab your "stamp" layer, and drag it in Z behind the camera (toward you). Set another Z keyframe for "stamp". When you click play, it should zoom from behind the camera, and hit the "file" at 20.
That's about as simple as it gets, but it should get you started.
Good luck!
