XML Translation Document Error

When attempting to view XML files in FCP an error message stating "translation document needed" pops up and then asks to select a translation document. Has anyone else ran into this problem? Any ideas?

I can get to the files through log and transfer so all is good.

Hey there,

I know this is an old post - but I am having the same difficulties. I'm editing a project with a fellow editor and he is using FCP 7 whereas I am in FCP 6. To view his edits on my machine he exports an XML for me. However when I try to import the XML I get the "translation document" warning.

How do you view it through log and transfer? I haven't been able to work that one out...?

There are different versions of XML, be sure they're exporting a version you're current FCP version can read.
