hey folks. Am into my second day playing with new hvx200 camera. I've formatted an SD card within the camera. It's a legitimate / authorized SD card. Then I wrote the existing scene files to the card using the generic "title 1...4" names in order to establish a directory structure per advice I got on this forum (i think it was Jan). Previously, I'd formatted the card, but then copied Barry's "Private" folder to the card and was getting a "Read NG, No File" message when returned to the camera. Anyway after writing the camera's scene files to the card, it indeed read "Title 1...4" in blue letters in my viewfinder so when I got that into my computer and replaced the contents of that "Private" folder with the Private folder from the book's cd I thought I'd be in the clear but I still get the same error message when trying to read from the card. I'm wincing in anticipation of some simplistic answer to this problem; just haven't found it in the manual or book yet.
I should mention that after having copied the HVX book files to my card and returned to the camera, the blue scene file names now read "no file" instead of "title 1...4."

so i read an earlier post which had no replies to it. The fella had the same problem I had. He said he fixed the problem by editing Barry's scene files to read as camera model AG-HVX200T instead of P. I just wrote another test scene file from my camera to the card and checked in my computer: indeed that saved Title 1 scene file now reads with a "T."
I'm really confusing myself here: does the workflow go....
1) format card within camera
2) save existing / default camera scene files to card by writing. I write and give the generic names "title 1...4". After writing the camera tells me "write ok" not "saving completed."
3) take sd card to computer and replace one private folder with another. Or go down to the lowest level and replace one .txt file with another.
4) take sd card back to computer.
5) now the sd card should be able to "read" each new scene file, right?
I'm not sure if there are some additional steps about writing, saving etc in order to use these great scene file resources we have available to us. And thanks to everyone who's made those available by the way.

You have a japanese HVX. Use my scene files, copy them to the card, then edit the SCENE?.TXT files and change HVX200P into HVX200T and then they should work in your camera.

Thanks much. They're working for me now. I guess I cut some corners there anticipating future costs for a matte box and filters. I wonder when I'll run into some Japanese weirdness next. I've been putting the camera through its paces and so far so good.
