I have an old rear projection 1080i Mitsubishi TV, not sure what model, but it's about 75in and says 1080 series. In the 10 years we've had it, we've never seen HD on it. So when I got my HVX I was excited to watch some footage in HD. So I plugged my HVX in with the component cables to watch some 1080i footage. The quality was amazingly sharp and crisp, but the image had a green tint to it! So I checked the inputs, everything was snug. I searched this problem on google, and it seems common with component cables. Is it my HVX, my cables, or the TV? What can I do to fix this?

I'm guessing it's the TV. You would have to run bars on the set to test.

Sounds like you have one of the following:

1. Bad cables.
2. Cable plugged in the wrong port.
3. TV set to RGB instead of Component....possibly a dip switch setting.

Ah, you may have solved my problem. I'm clueless about TVs, and when I was fooling around with the menus Im pretty sure I saw RGB, and left it cuz I thought it was right. I'll try again and report back.

Green Hornet you solved my problem! I had it set to RGB instead of YPrPrB. As soon as I switched it, everything looked great!
