Hi all, this is my first greenscreen project using my new HMC151, its a project for the university. Every shot there was created using greenscreen.
This was shot in 1080 25p with the lowest noise preset I could get.

hope you like it! (it's in basque so I don't think you'll understand it.......)

Thanks!
I used keylight in after effects, it was really a painless key. I must also say that I'm really happy with the greenscreen capabilities of this camera.

What grid size and frame rate did you shoot?

I shot using the 1080 25p preset (obiously at 25fps). What I did was lay the camera vertically instead of horizontally, that way I could fit the talent (pretty tall as you may see) and don't have to go further back (wich I couldn't casue I was filming in a very tight space) and lose definition in the talents edges.
I'll try to post a raw framegrab for you to play with.
Hope this helps!

Nice key.
At some points I could see some of the junk by his left arm (you can just use the pen tool to get rid of it).....I guess the filter picked up the effect GREAT, but you had some stuff dancing around by his left arm (not keyed properly).
Nice job though, great key in deed. Good export, what's your compression setting for this camera?

Thanks robbie.
About junk....I noted it, but I noted it after rendering it, and I wasn't feeling like changing it......I'm sure there is more cause everything I did was just hit pick the color and play a bit with the gain (and set some basic masks). I f I'd played more with it I'm sure all that junk would have gone (and as you say really fast with a simple mask.....) but, well my teacher didn't note that:D....and in the end of the day that was what counted.....
If by compresion setting for this camera you mean the setting for exporting from premiere, these is what my export screen looks like.

there are other two pages , one to set the flv or f4v format (f4v is what I used...don't ask me why, it looked better and that's it) and the other for the audio (which I didn't play with).
It looked pretty darn good in youtube and with the new hd code (&fmt=22) for youtube it looks hd!..... I still remember when everything you could see in youtube was a really pixelated image.....
Hope this helps!

Your marks were well deserved!
I would have given you higher though!
What were their criticisms?
Audio?
Script?
Also, it might be cool if you put together a tutorial and for your workflow and post in on You Tube!

Thanks.
the criticism, the drawings in the storyboards and two misspronounced words (the teachers is very peacky with those things...). And another reason is that this teacher never gives anyone 10 points........
about the tutorial I'll see if after the two video projects I have to do and all the essays I have to do I have time (probably not........)
Keying with this camera isn't really difficult. The only thing I like to do when filming is (if possible) shot with one of those tripods that let you put the camera sidewise and use the horizontal pixels, that way I can get nearer to the talent and use get more defined edges.
Lighting is also really important.
After recording all I need I capture it (well, with the HMC I copy the files in the pc) and convert them using the pana converter to dvcpro hd. Then I import the footage into premiere and I edit the clips, after some draft cuts I get the final one.
When I have all the clips lined up I export each one in an uncompressed format (usually tga or tiff).
I import that into after effects. in there I set up a 1080 25p composition.
I apply the keylight effect and I tweak it till I get the desired effect ( with this camera you can get pretty decent result just tweaking the most basic settings like gain or balance and white or black point.
I also use garbage mattes to rub out all the unedeed parts of the video.
When I get the desired results (depending on the timeframe I have) I export it back (in whatever format you want) and I import it back into premiere and sustitute the clips with the keyed ones.
The most important thing is practising, shot your family or friends and take them in a long virtual trip around the world.
This is what I could write in my rest time....... I hope someone finds this useful.
EDIT: I also explained how I used to key when I use hdv cams in one of the threads linked in my sig.
