Hey,

Is there a way to scale an object that has already been animated via PLA? Every time I try to scale, it jumps right back to it's original size.

Here is a link to the project file:

I need to scale down the 'flower head', but am not able to...

Try to put your pla-animated object in a null object and scale down the null

I put the flower head and stem under a null.
Then used the scale tool to resize it and it kept snapping back.
But if you click the null and under the Coords tab, you can set the scale
S.X,S.Y,S.Z values in there to something 0.3 for example and that worked.
Just make sure your autokeyframing is off. It's on in the project you uploaded.

Hmm... That seemed to work until I moved the timeline marker around. Once I try to see the animation, it kicks to a bigger size (although a bit smaller than the original still for some reason) and the individual pieces are all scrambled from their original form.

So is it general practice to not scale a PLA edited object? Am I missing something with the way I modeled this?

I suppose I could model it out of a single polygon mesh, but for this project it's just much easier to do it in pieces...

...Or perhaps its good practice to just scale your object THEN animate it... Heh, that's the type of thing you would never know unless you ran into this specifically.

I mean... While everything is in the "flower head" null object, 'Move' and 'Rotate' work perfectly, but 'Scale' just doesn't play nicely for some reason. I can't animate the scaling either for some reason...

I find you can animate the scale by manually typing values directly into the S boxes as shown here.

You can also use xpresso then you can animate one slider to control the scale.
