View Full Version : Good simple make up for film tutorials (not FX makeup...) [posted to Dirs. Forum too]

I posted this to the Director's forum originally, but then thought perhaps there would be some people here who may have information on make up for actors.

-----
I was looking for a tutorial for make up for film... and found almost nothing that I could use to understand and then be able to request a make up artist, not necessarily with film experience, to do.

Anyone have any online URLs for tutorials like that... and I'm not meaning FX make for 'yet-another-zombie-picture'... but really make up that is for film to get an actor or actress a 'good look', even if they are supposed to look terrible...

What I'm also interested in is perhaps 'corrective/covering' make up to be able to deal with the no-budget talent that I have to work with...

Get a box of Kyrolan grease make-up (supracolor TV-Palette) and transparent powder.
Stay away from all the usual stuff the wife carries in her bag - not good under 2k lights.
