I shot my footage in 24pN/60fps. What I want is normal speed 24p, then at a point of action, do a ramped slow mo, then ramped back to normal 24p again.
I used to do ramped slow mo's in AE, but that was starting with 29.97 footage and ramping it slower. So I'm not quite sure how to do this with my 24p/60fps footage.
Can anyone tell me or give me a link how to do this in either FCP or AE?

It should work at 250% (60/24=2.5 times)

well I could speed it to 250% and it'll be normal speed 24p, but Im trying to figure out how to go from that 250% speed up (normal speed) and do a gradual ramp to 100% slow down (slow mo)

use the time remap in final cut

Forget Final Cut. Use the time warp effect in After Effects, or, if you have it, Twixtor in After Effects.

Ok, so I tried using the time remapping in AE, and doing it the way that I always slowed down 29.97 footage... but I've run into a problem.
Its 24pN/60fps, and I want it to go from normal, ramp to slow, then ramp back to normal. So I sped up the clip to 2.5 times as fast to get it normal 24fps speed (no problems there). Then, I tried to stretch the section I wanted slow to 2.5 times as fast. When I went frame by frame, I noticed that now every 4 frames or so is doubled (artificial slow mo).
What do I do? I want the slow mo to stay smooth, but the only way I could think to do it was to speed it to normal, and stretch the segment back to 2.5 times slow. But now the slow mo is choppy.
