Hi peeps...
Was wondering if some one could enlighten me please. I have read many differing things about capturing 16x9 and 4x3 on my HVX-200.
At the moment I am capturing on tape with SD, largely because of the cost of P2 cards, this will change hopefully soon.
I am using final cut 5.1.4.
I have been recoding 16x9 squeeze on SD with the HVX-200, and have been logging and capturing 16X9 anamorphic in FCP.
I have read that if I capture 16x9 SD the quality would be worse than if I was to capture 4X3 SD because it squeezes the info??? Does it and if it does is it a major quality issue.
If other people are capturing on SD with their HVX-200 do you capture 4x3 or 16x9. I know it's all a personal taste thing and what suits one doesn't suit the other. But what I'm concerned about is the quality issue and any other details I may not be aware of. Obviously I can fit more into the frame when I capture 16x9 width wise.
And the 16x9 frame looks more film like which is what I am after, rather than putting slugs on the top and bottom of a 4x3 image.
Many many thanks for your time and help
