PRODUCTION LOG
NOVEMBER 28TH- Finished first draft of the script
DECEMBER 1ST- Finished second draft of the script
DECEMBER 7TH-Reworked plot, wrote a new script (same concept)
DECEMBER 14TH- Reworked plot, wrote a BRAND NEW script (same concept). I hadn't recorded any of these prior dates on here before because I was unsure about each script at the time, but now that I've essentially written four scripts, I figured that I might as well update everyone on what was going on. We are still planning on shooting early January, especially because we have two of our leads pretty much cast and have a generally good idea of a couple locations we could get. Our budget is also shaping up nicely, but we're still going to try to raise some more. After I consult the rest of the team I'll see if I can divulge any more information dealing with certain portions of the production ~

Paired was awesome. Looking forward to this one too.
Hey thanks everyone-- glad you're all looking forward to this entry as much as I am. I'll have more news in 1 week. O_O
The pre-production for this movie is going to be awesome. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the art direction is going to turn out. I don't want to give too much away but I think this one is going to stimulate a lot of imaginations.

Hm now that you look at it you could just monochrome 'Paired' and get it into this fest.
It IS about loss after all. And I bet no one would notice. :P
Good luck!

LITTLE BEIRUT!!! Hooray for structurally unsound locations!!!
In all seriousness though I can't wait to see that place tricked out with our sick production design.
put up a makeshift poster, better one coming soon

Actually, besides the narration (which may or may not be in the final film) there won't be any ADR this time around! Woohoo! Had to learn my lesson the hard way. And even if there is some, I'm going to have much more time to work with it, because I won't be joining the fest three/fourths of the way through haha.
Robbie if you come to Florida before this fest is over, let me know what part you're in and I'd love to have you on the set... or even in the next fest I'd love to help out with your film.

Looks like a dream location that fell from heaven. Man I'd love to film in something like that.
A thousand good stories there.
Loved "paired"
Hey, maybe this is where all those 'lost' socks and panties go?
I'll be hankering to watch this come March 09!

Dude, you and me were in the SAME canoe (boat's to cliché ;)) during Twilgiht Fest.
It was windy the day of, so I ADR'ED the WHOLE thing. Actually, all the audio/sounds you heard from my film, were all follied, downloaded after. :)
Btu yes, I also learned my lesson. Counting on ADR is not a good thing, as I did count on it.
I may be moving to Newport beach, if you wanna come down there, you got a place to stay :)
Florida is an option right now though..

look forward to this. I thought the writing in 'paired' was one of the best in the fest. Good luck with the shoot.

Thanks Darkline! Like everyone else, i absolutely loved "Broadcast." I'm working hard right now on a rewrite of the script. I had two drafts down of a previous script, but decided to change it . The characters and setting remain the same, but the plot has been altered.
updated with a load of new info
So I haven't really been keeping this thread up to date, but today was our first shoot day and I just updated the front page with some grabs, check it out.

Love the joker-like clown look. I will defiantly be watching this one. Also, I don't really know film terminology so I was wondering the the camera you are using to shoot is better or not that HVX and DVX cameras. Just out of curiosity?
Ki-Ki : The location has changed from the original posting...its probably even more interesting now, at least if you know the backstory...but we'll get more into that with the BTS I'll be setting up.
mattspat: Well.... I suppose if you had to rate in technological terms it would probably go HVX>XHA1>DVX . However, the HVX is only above the XHA1 because it is solid state and has variable frame rates....someone recently did a picture test and showed that the colors of the XHA1 are in fact more generally pleasing. However, this is all up to the individual. The HVX and XHA1 are definately in a class above the DVX simply because they are HD.

Nutty grabs...Makes me wonder what it's about.
Can't wait.
Robbie
And thats a wrap... now to edit, color, and score it. Woohoo.
Oh yeah, and Mr. Dodd up there is quite right... the cast and the crew were lovely. The cast, well, what can I say, beautiful people doing some beautiful work-- and the crew, worked hard, well, and efficiently. I never really even had to touch a light... the DP was completely on the ball around the clock letting me just talk to the actors, monitor the shots, and keep track of my script.
Oh and did I mention that Mr. Dodd here himself was running around set all day doing every possible thing he could to get this film running like a well oiled machine.
Really, the crew I work with is quite amazing.

Congrats, feels good eh?
If you need any help, I'm here :)
I'd love for some early rough cuts. I can toss you some feedback.
Robbie
Robbie- Only problem with that is that the film is very... strange...and probably can't really be watched until all the parts are complete... its hard to explain without giving anything away...but thanks and I'll let you know if theres anything I can show you.
So, I just finished the second edit of the film. Its just a bit over time at 6 minutes 40 seconds... which is MUCH better than Paired...which came in 3 minutes over the limit after my first edit. Oi vey.
