This shows that you cannot please everyone all the time.
I have gotten PMs asking to keep it weekly and PMs asking to move it to an every other week process.
These fests are put on for the benefit of the community and a lot of people invest an enormous amount of their PERSONAL time to ensure that these run smoothly and that the masses are able to enjoy them.
If you are unable to participate, that is fine, but the continued repetition of the same sentiment does nothing other than give people who have an alternate opinion more fuel to disagree.
I'm not pointing Ryan out specifically but just venting.
After this fest, as I have stated and has Larry has linked we will be moving to an every other week fest situation with the exception of 'special fests'

The only reason I continue to ask was because of this post...

I do appreciate all that you're doing as this is definitely one of the most organized things I've seen around, but you know...I'm just getting mixed signals here. I honestly never saw that post that Larry showed me until just now, but anyways. Onwards.

IMO, weekly is just fine. we don't have the same free time ... we don't have the same mood ... we don't have the same drive ... so if you can't participate on a particular week because of some reasons, then don't. I for one will not participate all the time. I'll just choose the theme that will drive me to shoot. Like most of you, i don't have ample time to carry my camera around to spot an interesting subject and to wait for the appropriate lighting of the day. but even if we extend the contest for a year if i don't feel like shooting then i will not going to. as the saying goes: if there's a will, there's a way; but if you dislike, there's an alibi to say. (OK i made up the last part :)).
but even if i am not participating, i'm always looking forward to see what others got. and waiting 2 weeks just to see your crappy pictures is too long :D

I am in! Good to see this back. I just noticed it being back a few days ago and missed the first 3 contests!

I'm with 13th on this, once a week is the better choice. I can skip themes I'm not interested in (like this current one) but I can shoot the next one without waiting for weeks. Not to mention it's more challenging this way. But alas, whatever Jeremy decides is cool by me. I know he's frustrated with everyones opinions, but, that's what forums are for, so there's mine.

I'm with you, sir. That being said, I'm just glad this is going on again (even if I've missed the last couple of weeks).

My head is rattling from the PM's I have been getting on this issue.
As it stands, the photo contest was originally devised as a weekly contest to get people out shooting. If weekly doesn't work for you, then I am sorry, but at this point I see more benefit in continuing it on a weekly basis versus moving it to an every other week.
We will see if things change, and certain contests, especially those around the holidays will have longer lead times. As of right now, especially with the upcoming themes, things are pretty open and easily shot within the time frame available.
That's how things will continue for the upcoming future.
