Is it that big of a deal to check settings with the photo button or am I missing something? :huh:

There is still no proof. I have seen that small photo and I can do many photos of the HV30 LCD not only with the shutter and aperture but also with local weather, oil prices and horoscope.

Anyway, the hope dies last... :)

The hacked hv30 is fake and part of a scam. There is a donated pool of money for anyone who hacks the camera and this is part of an attempt to scam that money.

There is a pool of money donated for anyone who comes up with a firmware hack for the hv20. Bob Rossi and his alter ego 'filmwonder' have posted seed posts to indicate that there is a hack for the hv30 / hv20. They are hoping to increase and then scam the forums dontation pool by using a couple of bad photoshopped images to convince people the hack exists.

Filmmaking forums are ripe for scammers. there have been a few camera sales scams on this forum I remember.

And no I don't have a tinfoil hat.

I would also like to point out that Bob Rossi joined on Nov 12 and has only posted that thread. The join dates and post counts are similar on the hv20 forum and the rebel cafe forum.

To be fair, Juan hacked the DVX to become something pretty effing spectacular. Something that I would currently rather have then an HVX.

Uhh..what the heck happened to my post? I actually posted about it being a scam and the guy Bob Rossi being called out on it a few days ago. Did a mod erase it? If so, that's a bad move on their part. They should at least check out the info before deleting posts. Bob Rossi probably reported my post and had it deleted.

Vic Olam, Bob Rossi and filmwonder just deleted every one of their posts over there, so if anybody doesn't know what happened the thread is very confusing. Bob Rossi was called out onto the mat tonight. The whole thing was a scam and made up by Vic Olam. There is not any hacked HV30. He made it all up. There is no Bob Rossi and Vic said that he made that name up to lend credibiltity because it sounded like Bob Fosse. The thread is still funny and you can make some sense of it even with all the deleted posts.
