Will this lens work on the d90? I'm almost sure it does just want to double check before I pull the trigger.

One thing I always wonder... why are lenses and lenses seemingly getting crapper?

The old AI lens had physical easy to read markings for easy focusing. And an aperture ring to control the f stop.

This has an aperture ring but no easy to read focus ring (but has AF for photographing purposes)

And the latest 1.4 lens has no manual aperture ring at all!

I think that most of today's lenses are designed with fast, quiet autofocusing and low-weight in mind first and stuff like manual control second.

They aren't getting crappier and crappier, they are getting more and more inexpensive.

If you want the best _feeling_ and fastest nikon 50mm lens (F/1.2) expect to pay 6x the price over the F/1.8 or F/1.4.

The only major difference between the F/1.4 and F/1.8 is sharpness at F/2.

The 50mm 1.4 is my favorite...
I have a couple more movies I'm gonna put up next week.
Shot this a month or so ago.

Yeah it's quite a good thing that things are getting lighter and quieter. For the photographer I guess it's pretty easy to push a button to change the aperture rather than twist a dial.

Shame, I miss that clunky manly feeling of grabbing a barrel!

50mm 1.2 on the Nikon D90 rocks for low light! I knew if there was one 50mm lens to get, it would have to be the 1.2 because if you look at the Ken Rockwell review on it, it's just as sharp at 1.4 as the normal 1.4 lens is but you can go up to 1.2 for even lower light. Granted, for indoor stuff, I usually stop down to 1.4 anyway but I filmed in a parking lot last weekend and the 1.2 setting was a lifesaver. Heck, I could even film the stars if there's a clear enough sky! =D

The 1.2 only comes in AI-S flavor no?

Can you post on vimeo the footage with the 1.2?
