Hey there! i just ordered my 150 a few days ago and it should be here this coming week:) I'll be mostly filming skateboarding and the first quick vid im making is going to be a slomo trick vid. Any advice on what mode i should shoot at? im guessing i'll need a higher shutter speed so the slomo will look real nice n flow. Any suggestions? Dont forget some pros n cons:)
_thanx alot for your help!

Shoot with 720p/60 and a shutter speed of 1/500th or lower (assuming that there is enough light). Keep an eye on focus (should be obvious).
I can say that this is an awesome camera for shooting all kinds of sports. Who cares about full HD? I rather prefer getting more progressive pictures per second than having full HD.

Sure the HMC150 does full HD, but the resolution of the chips is not full HD. It's basically advanced upsizing, it won't add any detail over 720p.
But my point was that 720p with 60 fps is better for shooting sports than full HD with 30 fps.

I say to push the Shutter as much as you can to pop things. I routinely shoot skate and other extreme sports with the fastest shutter than I can reslove a decent exposure with. You might also want to pick up a nice fisheye and some kind of stabilization rig so you can skate or roleblade along with the action too..

yeah i really need to get a fisheye soon. any suggestions(links). doesnt matter the cost. and thanks for all the input on what settings to shoot with. But yeah pretty much my first vid just guna be a rolling dolly slomo of a few flip tricks from my buddies outside. with a nice chill song to go along with it. Im guessing i'll need a super high shutter speed becuz i wanna go reeeaaallll slomo if u no what i mean. so hopefully these settings u guys gave me do good. I cant wait to post my first vid n get some feedback!

Pailes- nice editing in that skateboard vid, pretty cool how you were in the shot twice at one time.
