Hi folks,

I've done some more filming with my HMC-151E (just some clips of the kids over the weekend). Some of the footage is from outside at night with only a few sodium streetlights for light. It was very dark! It was recorded in 1080i /50 shutter with 12db gain when required. The orange glow from the lights looks more red than in reality, but other than that I think it's really good. Obviously you would usually use a light in these conditions but it is interesting to see how the camera copes.

There is also some funfair footage later on in which the colours really pop out. Looks better than in reality!

The footage was compressed to 3mbps to fit onto vimeo so there are some major compression artifacts of course, which weren't in the original footage.

Sadly the Vimeo compression really makes it difficult to see any noise in the footage. A more demonstrative test would be to provide some some raw low light AVCHD footage (even if it's only a few seconds long.) Thanks for posting though :)

Hey Stu that red from those sodium street lamps really made it look "Exorcist" ;)
