Out of the back of his locked car trunk.

He just called to tell me all this, he's up in college in Putney Vermont

He's giving me the details, but basically what was stolen, was the entire Redrock M2 setup, all his Zeiss ZF lenses.. Once he gets back to his room, he's gonna try and get the serial numbers, (If he wrote them down)

His JVC HD cam... everything filmmaking wise... is gone... thats what... over $5k worth of gear?

If you're up in Vermont, keep a very clos eye out on anyone selling a Redrock or Zeiss lenses

If it was in the trunk of his car, I'm guessing it was someone he knew, and they were following him waiting for the right time. Tell him to keep an eye on friends and acquaintance's, and to make inquiries to everyone around him.

Has he reported it to the police? hope hes already done that.

This is very disapointing news, hope things turn up for him, I've had things stolen and I know what it feels like, not good.

Yes its all be reported to police, i was just posting on here to keep your eyes out

He doesn't think its friends or anything, it wasn't really the camera gear they were after, it was in his trunk, locked, it was smashed open... money and medication was also stolen, they just grabbed the big pelican cases to boot..

Watch Craigslist & Ebay !! Yea I'd agree with Ryan's, definitely sounds like an inside job.

Was it stolen anywhere around any business that might have an outside camera ? Or even street lights have them now, might be able to contact your local traffic control.

I hope your friend recorded all the serial numbers from his gear.

Post the last 3-4 of each number with a description. I bet a lot of people will keep their eyes open for it. Good chance it could be found, since there is a tight knit community in film work. Post it on other sites too. Also have him check the local pawn shops in the area.
