So I recently got a call from a friend who I haven't seen in along time and he invited me up to his new office. He proceeded to tell me that he had created some software that optimizes modem based internet connections, he then proceeded to tell me that he sold that company last year for 100 million$$$ biggest software deal in BC.
He then said that he wanted to give me an office in his office as he was going to be landing an interactive film based project and wanted me to be heavily involved. This is an amazing office with mathematicians and physicist writing optimization code for content delivery...and he wants me to be the film/interactive/visual effects guy.

Then that afternoon I get a call from some other people who are setting up an HD Avid based Post House and they want to bring me in as Senior Editor to cut show that they have on the books for Discovery and National Geographic. As well they are getting me certified for Scuba Diving because they do a ton of underwater shows.

So then I go out to celebrate all of this wild stuff that is happening in a town of only 200k and meet this hot women who is putting on a big Fashion Show and wants to know if I can shoot this event for her and do all the back stage and catwalk shooting...it is going to go on to fashion TV. Victoria Secret here i come....

Damn good week....and I only moved here on Monday.

:D

That is awesome Taylor! I love hearing such great news from one of our boys! Wow!

I am certifed SCUBA (been years since I have done it though) and it is kick ass! You will love it. It is one of those experiences that you just can't explain to people how bitchen it is! Like Surfing or Skydiving; you just gotta do it yourself to get the gist of it!

I went down once 120' and just literally stood on the bottom of the Ocean with crazy fish all around. Really like Space I imagine (Might explain why Nasa trains Astronaughts underwater). Looking up at the surface as sun beams come down from a 120' is surreal to say the least.

Awesome week! :D

Start of Week 1
So, to continue on the saga.::)
On Monday, I moved into my new office in the 100mil$$ buddy's office, in the pm after setting up my shit i show him some motion control systems shots that a good buddy of mine created with his prototype rig ...well he flips out in a positive way and we come up with a way to integrate some realtime 3D into the shot...cool

the saga continues...

next I.....
Go to a brand new HD facility: the guy who owns this facility is originally from LA who moved up to the middle of no-where (Gods Country) where i live; , they are building out from ground zero. He's the same age as me; we can easily slag each other. Good and funny guy...non-LA bozo
He and I approved what was going in today to his facility 1 Avid Media Composer, 1 Avid Symphony, 1 Avid DS-HD system, 5.1 Surround Digital Performer suite and folley pits, and ME ....the only guy for 900 miles who knows how to run most of this shit; aside from him.
Attention:
DVXUsers I made a point of requesting a DV/cam and Mini DV player recorder with RS-422. For those uploads to the Syphony for HD up-rez...
Then,
While were trying to block out the post production construction schedule for the facility he goes, "hey I've got a shoot in Amsterdam and Spain; why don't you to come along to AD, and were shooting HD;
I have to speak to my sister the exec producer.'

....I then proceeded to mention I speak Spanish.

So tomorrow I guess I go to the Passport office , just for sheer luck.

maybe I'm just lucky at this phase in my life... " or if you do anything long enough"

SAGA 3
I'm sure there is soon to be a dramatic pitfall for our young/old cosmic pilot...

Subtext: Fortunately I have worked on the AVID DS and the Avid Media Composer since Rev 1... but the DS is very different???

Barry i need some HD knowledge help bbbaaaaddddd!!!!!???!!!!!!?????
