I've downloaded and viewed so far ZIPS 1-3 and all I can say is:

Wow.

I'm truly amazed at the work everyone here has to put into this fest.

This fest made me really happy. REALLY, I smile while watching these films. Big congrats to everyone, I'll watch them all, then watch them again, rate and comment.

Beautiful, simply beautiful.

I have seen 1/3 (the ones I reviewed for rule verification) and I have to say I was pleased with what I saw overall. Some great entries this time out ... and I've heard good things about some of the others I haven't watched yet.

Great job everyone!

Maybe when you set your sites on homage-ing (my new word) one the the greatest writers of all time for the moving image (or period) everyone bumps it up a notch. We still get creepy and eerie if we want to, but you have to do a bit better than Hostel or Saw to even qualify for the fest.

I want one of these to go with my Shakespeare and Poe action figures that watch over my desk now. Only problem is they go for like $200 dollars I think. And oh yeah there's the other problem. I should probably grow up at some point.

Just be careful you don't push your girlfriend's patience too far, she might fall into her own dark childish obsessions:

Jack, I did a double take at your avatar and laughed out loud. On a side note, I think it's funny how you can get away with changing yours to a grab from that episode but when I do it I nearly get shot.

Now to keep it on-topic: I haven't watched very many at all. I am busy and my new rating system is more thoughtful than before and, thus, more time consuming. I will get done eventually. :)

I think he means because people always want him to have a penguin, the same way people get tweaked sometimes if Hudson or I change our avatars from Nicholson or Walken respectively.

Or did you have Robbie in your avatar and people freaked out or something? Nick - what ARE You talking about :)

I was glad to see the overall quality this fest was raised back up to the level of some of the prior fests. Well done to all the filmmakers this go around. A lot of really interesting films.
