On FX's "Todd TV." The preview shows Todd being filmed with a DVX, but the footage is made to look like it was shot with Uncle Benny's $400 camcorder. Uncool.

Sounds like the whole XL1/full frontal debacle.

I remember going to see "Full Frontal" having been told that a MiniDV camera was used to shoot it, and that it was the be-all and end-all to the gap between 35mm motion pictures and DV. I'd heard that Soderbergh talked it up as if he LIKED the images coming from the camera...
Then I see it (didn't even ENJOY it) and laughed at how we were so mistaken. I read it up and learned they even went through post techniques to LOWER the quality. Man oh man...

I watched the first episode of this awhile ago and didn't see one DVX. I'm not sure if they are using DVX's.

I remember that being mentioned and I looked and looked and they were using the standard "reality show cameras". Not sure what kind, but they were big and shoulder mounted.
Not to say they are not using the DVX, I dont know. Like to have it confirmed though. Whatever the case, the footage isnt impressive.
