Interested in contacting anyone who is using Vue 6 Infinite to produce professional programming.
Especially interested in how it's being used.

First time user. Has a lot of potential. As for any pros responding around here, good luck, Best bet is cgSociety. That's not a dig, just a fact. Care to post some grabs of your work?
You show yours, I'll show mine, haha.
//Seriously though, what are you looking for? Techniques? There's tons of hollywood movies with breakdowns showing what they did with vue.

We're new to 3D and trying to evaluate what it will take to produce simple animations for an HD broadcast program.
The needed end product is mountainous terrain into which we can "fly" through and arrive next to some modeled construction equipment. Vue will clearly handle the terrain and fly-thru just fine.
Here's the dilemma because we want to have to purchase only one software.
1. Can we incorporate stock models from other sources or build our own simple models inside Vue 6 Infinite to use with our modeled Vue environments? In other words, do everything in Vue only.
2. Are we better off buying/learning C4D assuming that we can build the needed environments plus have a more robust ability to build models/buy prebuilt models?
Neither the environment nor the construction models need be complex, in fact we actually prefere simple uncomplicated shapes.

I'm really new to vue but I've worked with C4D for a couple years. For what it's worth:
1. Vue can do basic modeling but not using conventional methods. It's primarily an enviroment program. You can import models that were made in other programs though.
If you were doing that it is best to bake your textures into the materails with the other program first before importing into vue. I've been able to do that without any problems. Most any model you can purchase will have the textures already baked, but ask before buying if your not sure.
If you can only buy one program and need enviroments, get vue because they are best at what they do. As for the modeling, you'd be better using another program. Blender is free so you could try that as an option for modeling.
2/ You can build enviroments in C4D and other programs but you'll run into a huge number of other issues that you'll need to work around. You would also run into problems trying to render scenes with several hundred million or more polygons. And then you have trees and plants and while that's all posible with C4D, it's not a practicle way to do it. You would have to make multiple renders in mutlipass and other issues. The workflow would be complicated. Possible, but vue is designed specifically for handling those things with ease.
So the short of it is, I'd recommend buying vue and try modeling with blender if you need to add other objects like houses, cars and such.
You might want to look at some of the AsileFX tutorials when your getting started.
They are a few guys around here using vue. I'm not sure if they'll chime in though.
Good luck.

Raptor365 -Many thanks for your response. I think you've saved us a ton of time and effort. It also appeared to us that if we could build or buy the simple models we needed elsewhere, then Vue 6 is the program to go for.
We're now going to go stick our heads into Blender and see what we can sort out. Thanks again!
