Kinda random question about the EX1... on the zoom ring, is 16mm and 22mm at the zoom or wide end of the lens?
I ask because I was told that on the upcoming SGblade 35mm adapter, you need to be zoomed in to 16mm for non-flipped and 22mm for the flipped module. I'm assuming that's towards the wide end of the lens... but since I don't own an EX1, didn't really know how wide/zoomed that was.

My lens is graduated from 5.8mm to 81.2

So then I take it I am correct that it is towards the wide end of the spectrum?

Yes. What is the significance?

I was going to buy a Letus Extreme around the end of the year, which requires you to be zoomed most of the way in... but if the SGBlade requires very little zoom on the camera, I think I may hold off the extra month until it comes out.
Thanks for the info.

Zooming in less means that the lens will let in more light. So if your choice was between one adapter that required a zoom of 80mm, and another which got proper field of view at 16mm, then the one at 16mm is going to result in an overall brighter picture.

Plus you'd be farther away from the CA-plagued end of the zoom position, too, right?

I hadn't even thought about the zoom/light issue. I was just thinking about how much less of a headache it could be to have that much more room to zoom in and out (assuming there isn't a focus issue) using the camera as opposed to having to deal with either a 35mm zoom lens that would have a higher maximum f stop or getting a large variety of low f stop primes. Theoretically, if I could zoom out that far, all I would need would be one or two decent primes and I would be set. Would I be wrong in that thinking?
