A brief test project using the HMC150 and my homebuilt static 35mm DOF adapter. I built my "Ed 35" a couple years ago for my DVX100A, and wanted to see if it would work with the 150. And since my roommate has never carved a jack-o-lantern this seemed like the ideal time to test it out. I'm a little rusty with pulling manual focus, but it was still a fun project.
We had to shoot at night but I still wanted dusk-like lighting so I gelled some floodlamps with CTO and pointed them through the window. Not the best lights in the world, but they got the job done. Camera was set to 720 24p scene file 6. I upped the detail to +4 to compensate for the diffusion that the adapter adds. The lens was a Canon 50mm f1.4
Post was done using Vegas Pro 8. Edited the raw AVCHD files, then tweaked the color/contrast a bit since I wanted a Fall color palate. Final render out was a 720 24p WMVHD. Exposure Room took it from there. Screen-grabs are below.

THEN, I took the jack-o-lantern and tried to see if I could replicate a portion of the opening titles to the original Halloween. This was shot at 720 60p and slowed down in Vegas Pro to match the zoom speed used in the movie. That was a pain in the a** since Vegas does not handle slowed down AVCHD very well. Flickered like crazy :( And if anyone knows where I can find the same font used in the titles, let me know. It took forever to get just this close.
