Hello,
I was looking into buying a HMC150. I have read a couple of issues on here about when transferring to FCP using the Log&Transfer you get the clip running 2x its regular speed after the transfer.. Is this something that has been fixed? Is it factual? thanks for you time guys...

I haven't found this with FCE, but I have found that only 1080i footage can be inputted via Log & Transfer. Other types of footage need to be transcoded using another app such as voltaic. i wouldn't let this put you off the camera, as it is great, hopefully these niggles will be addressed by the next versions of FCS/FCE.

So no progressive footage can be put in to FCP through log and transfer? No 30p... everything has to be 1080 60i....??
thanks

I should clarify. I've tried 720 50p (didn't work) and 1080 50i (did work). I haven't tried every other permutation yet, but I have noticed that FCE only has easy setups for AVCHD in 1080 50i and 1080 60i modes, and no others. So my assumption is that other modes are not supported yet.

interesting... but with voltaic you can bring in progressive footage ?? does it affect the footage?

Toast 9 is much better than Voltaic @ transcoding.

I have toast 9, but I have not been able to figure out how to transcode with it? Is there a plugin for it or something?

no plug in needed. just go to the CONVERT section which is the last icon at the top of the scrren when toast is open. drag your mts file to it and it will export to whatever quicktime codec you have on your system. its actually really easy and it will do batch transcodings as well.
